Well, with a little help, Matthew can hold his bottle and feed himself. I can’t believe how big he’s getting already. Last night I weighed him and he was a whopping 15 lbs. I still need to get out my tape measure to see how long he has gotten, but I’m pretty sure it’s long.

Matthew has made some new friends, and quite frankly, they are adorable!! They go by Moose Moose, and Al the Alligator. Matthew just loves to cuddle and talk to both of them. He also made a friend above his changing table. His name is Thermy the Thermostat. When Matthew is getting his diaper changed, he just loves to talk and laugh and make fun baby noises at Thermy. Too bad Thermy doesn’t talk back to him or even try to play with him!

The last couple days have been a little nightmarish for us (at least me!)…on Tuesday we found out that a swarm of bees wanted to make a home in our apartment attic. All of the sudden we were finding bees in the bedroom and bathroom, stuck to the window trying to get out. Low and behold, we look outside and they are all swarming around the roofline by our front door trying to get in the attic through a teny tiny hole. It took 2 days just for the rental office to get some one out to take care of it. Supposidly they should be gone by tomorrow, but I’m not holding my breath. So between Matthew and the bees I haven’t gotten much sleep. Everytime I close my eyes, I picture a bee landing on me or Matthew just waiting for one of us to move so it can sting us. I never knew that when you are even the least bit paranoid, a car engine can sound like the buzzing of a bee, sprinklers too!

So on Monday, we decide to finally take Matthew to get some professional pictures taken…what a trip! First of all, Matthew woke up happy and smiling like he always does, and I was thinking to myself, “We’re gonna get some really cute photos of him today” and I was really excited to take him and so he would be admired by all because he is so cute and adorable, but as soon as we get to the photo place in Babies R Us, he decides that he wants to be grumpy, hungry, and tired. Nothing we tried could get him to smile. He just ended up frowning and crying through the whole shoot. So, needless to say, after an hour and a half of trying to get him to cooperate, we ended up with 5 ok pictures. So, here is one of the better ones for you to enjoy!

Can you believe our little man is 2 months old now? I really does seem like just yesterday I was in the hospital just waiting to come home with my new little one. Matthew had his 2 month check up this past Monday. He now weighs 13 lbs, 1 oz, and is 24 1/2 inches long. What at TANK! Tonight Paul and I had the fun of buying some new clothes for Matthew, since he is growing out of his current wardrobe. It seems like he grew out of all my favorites over night. I’m sad that I have to box up all the super cute outfits, especially after he wore a couple of them only once.
Matthew also got his immunizations, not much fun for him or me! We were both a ball of tears by the time the nurse was through. A total of 5 shots and 1 oral. Now we a have a 2 week waiting period to see if he has any type of reaction to the live viruses that he got. Not to mention that Paul and I could catch one of them if we’re not careful changing his diapers. (What a thought!!)
How are we adjusting to having a new baby around? Well, let’s just say, life has it’s moments! I’ve wanted to put him out to sleep on the porch only once, his crying isn’t so frustrating because I’ve realized that he really is a happy baby, and I have gotten used to the fact that every time I sit down to enjoy a meal, that’s when Matthew decided that he is starving, and will cry like the world is coming to an end until he gets a little something in his tummy. So, dinners are eaten cold, and when Matthew does cry, it’s because he needs my immediate attention. But in the end it’s all worth it to see him smile at me as I rock him to sleep at night.

Well, our little man officially giggles and can say ‘HI’! (ok, maybe it’s me trying to make something out of his fun baby gibberish, but it’s the cutest thing!) Me and Paul are very proud! Matthew has also turned into a couch potato just like his mama…
