More Family Fun

This last week Matthew got to meet my Auntie Jeanne for the first time. She flew all the way from Washington to spend time with family and to meet our little man. And as always, Matthew was the perfect little angel is always is when people are around!

Big Boy Shirt

I love this outfit too much not to share…It is Matthew’s first ‘big boy shirt’ that his Grandma bought for him on one of our little shopping trips.

Four times the fun!

From November through February we celebrated 4 births with really close friends. It would have been cool to get all four big bellies together for a before shot, but these will just have to do for the after shot. From left to right there is Matthew, Isaiah, Jaclynn, and Rebekah. Like how Matthew is the only one that wants to sleep through the photo shoot? That’s my boy!!

The Happy Chair

Whoever invented these wonderful bouncing/vibrating chairs for babies is a genius!! No matter what mood our little guy is in, as soon as we put him in this miracle chair, he is instantly alert and smiling! Every mom should have one!! :)

1 Month Old!

Isn’t amazing how fast a month flies by? It’s hard for me to believe that our little Matthew is a month old today. What have we been up to the last month? Not a whole lot! Mostly eating, sleeping, and changing so many diapers. But the most exciting part of the last month was taking Matthew out and introducing him to all of our friends and family. Today we visited Matthew’s Great-Grandma Judy, and we did great! He was only a little fussy when his tummy got empty. And Grandma Judy was smiling the whole time, and was enjoying watching our new little addition.

Here are a few pics from the last month…enjoy!

He’s Here!!

After 9 hours of labor, a last minute c-section, Matthew Avery Phillips made
an appearance on January 2nd at 8:16 pm. He came in weighing 8 lbs, 4 oz,
and was 21 1/2 inches long. Enjoy this cute picture of our little man!

Lunch with Friends

Here is hopefully the last belly pic, but at this point, I’m not holding my breath! This is of me and Beth taken on the 23rd on our last excursion out before we both had our babies. Beth won! Yesterday she had a beautiful baby girl, and it was so much fun to meet her when she was just a few hours old!

An update on me…Yesterday we went in for my normal check up, now this little guy is 4, yes 4, days late, and still showing no signs of making an appearance soon. I was monitored, and the baby is healthy and doing fine, just not dropping into position or showing any signs of wanting to be born. My doctor is going to be on vacation until the middle of next week, so the plan is unless this little stinker decides to make an appearance any time in December, I am going to the hospital on the 2nd to get induced, so there is at least an end in sight! We go for more monitoring on Monday, just to make sure he is still doing well and not showing any signs of stress, and hopefully there will be more signs of progress. We’ll keep praying!

Christmas Eve

Well, today was SUPPOSED to be the big day, but as of now, there are still no changes. Looks like we just might have a New Year’s baby after all. (HMMMM, I wonder were he gets his stubbornness from?!?!) :)

It’s been fun and special to be pregnant during this time of year. I’ve been reflecting on Mary and Joseph a ton, what her mind set would have been traveling by donkey-back to Bethlehem, finding out that there wasn’t a ‘sanitary’ or firendly place to have the Savior, and the special calling God requested of her and Joseph to have Jesus. I wish I could have that mindset all year round, of saying ‘Whatever may come, your will be done’. Being so close to having our little one has given me a new perspective on the birth of Jesus.
I pray that all of your families will find something special in this season to reflect on, and remember the miraculous birth of our Lord this week.

Have a Merry Christmas!

All Set Up!

Finally got some picks of our little one’s crib and all the cute bedding. Enjoy!
