Today, Matthew went swimming for the first time ever! He’s a natural! (ok, so I may be bragging just a little!) Since I was in the pool with him, I wan’t able to get any shots of him swimming like a fishie, but we got some super cute pics of him chilling with all of his friends! Sorry about the hair loss Micah!!

Ah, the adventures of eating real food! We had to hold off feeding Matthew anything but formula because of some skin contitions, but we were finally able to eat some oatmeal, and Matthew loves it! (and loves to get it all over!!

What a fun but exhausting weekend! On Saturday, we loaded up Ruby and headed out to Silent Valley for a day of family festivities. Matthew was the little trooper and slept the whole way there and the whole way there. If we had only gotten the stroller to quit making such a ruckus, it would have been peace and quite!! On Sunday, I enjoyed spoiling Paul for his first ever Father’s Day. I woke up early, got me and Matthew all dressed and ready for church, and went and got Paul some yummy breakfast. (Breakfast is not the norm around out house on Sunday mornings, so this really was a special treat!) After church, we spent the afternoon at Paul’s parents house. What fun! His mom got Matthew this cute little walker, and Matthew was loving playing in it! For Paul’s present, me and Matthew went and had our pictures taken, and they turned out great! So, Happy Father’s Day! (again)

It’s seems like a lot has happened since I’ve last posted. I think the two biggest things are that Matthew is officially rolling over, and is eating real foods! Hooray! Matthew can almost sit up by himself, and is trying to scoot whenever he is on his tummy. I know I am going to have to baby proof the house soon, a project that I’m not really looking forward to. Anyways, enjoy a couple pics of my adorable little man!!

This is Matthew’s experience riding in a shopping cart all by himself and not in his car seat.
I just love this picture! I’m surprised we were able to get it with is tongue out!

It’s official!! Matthew grew his first tooth! Paul and I noticed the cute little thing on Sunday afternoon. It’s on the bottom left, so the fun part is trying to get him to show it off! As soon as you move his lip to see it, he sticks his tongue out! Silly Boy! I’m still working on trying to get some more pics up, so stay tuned, they should be up in a day or so!

Today started out as usual, Matthew woke up with a smile that said “I love you Mommy, can I eat now?” So downstairs I go in my jammies to feed my adorable little boy. (taking the stairs gingerly trying not to take another tumble!) After he ate he took a little nap while I compiled a few new recipes to try out, made a grocery list, and waited for my little one to wake up so I could get him dressed for our weekly adventure to the market. So, Matthew finally wakes up at about 9:30 (much to my delight), so I get him out of his jammies, change his beyond soaked diaper, and picked out an adorable outfit for him to wear. I was not prepared for what happened next. I went to put his shirt on over his head, but no, IT DOESN’T FIT ANYMORE!! Just to make sure nothing shrunk in the wash, I pulled out a similar shirt, and low and behold, that didn’t fit either! I am digging thru all of his clean clothes now, something has GOT to fit!! I finally settled on a little onesie, that was a tad too tight. (but I still got it buttoned with Matthew barely tolerating all the changing!) On top of all of this…I found out that Matthew is a HAM! We finally made it to the market, Matthew fully awake and talking. Not just talking to make noise, mind you, but to get the attention of anyone within a 50 mile radius just so he can get some one to oggle over him. And it wasn’t that hard since there was nothing but cute little grandmas and grandpas shopping this morning. Don’t get me wrong, it was fun to have someone else think my son is super adorable! After we got home, I put Matthew in his swing while I made him a bottle, and he is still going at it, talking that is. I think God decided to bless me with a little talker, just like I was as a little girl. I can’t wait to see how he turns out! After both our lunches, I was trying to get Matthew to take a nap, but having no luck, so I put him in his swing, and turned on the TV. Then, out of nowhere, I hear him laughing, not just a little laugh, but the big ‘ol belly laugh. I look over to see what could possibly be making my son laugh so hard, only to find that he was watching me the whole time. I have no idea why I was so funny, but he was certianly getting a kick out of me sitting on the couch. And as soon as he knew he got my attention, he was laughing even harder. We spent the next hour laughing and playing together, it was so much fun! I can’t think of any better way to spend my afternoons. Oh ya, tomorrow we get to go clothes shopping! Can’t wait!!

On Monday, Matthew went in for his 4 month check up. (Can you believe it’s been 4 months already!!) Our little tank came in weighing 16 lbs, 6 oz., and is 27 inches long. According to our pediatrician, he is in the 90th percentile, and is healthy as can be! And we couldn’t be happier!
Matthew also got a new swing/happy chair because he grew out of his old one…figures! But he LOVES it! It has a lion and a kitty that hang down by Velcro, and Matthew loves to pull them off and suck on them! Well, he likes to suck on anything he can get his hands on…even a dirty spit rag! Matthew also likes to hang out on his belly, this is a new thing, since he HATED to be on his tummy! So we’re slowly catching up on the rolling over and holding his head up. What’s funny though, is that on Monday when we were at Dr. Lee’s, she asked if he could support himself when he was on his tummy, and feeling really guilty, I said a very shy ‘No”. But when we came home, I put him on his tummy, and by-golly he was supporting himself, just like he was supposed to! I was a very proud mama! I even remembered to pull out the camera and take a few pics!
I love being at home all day with my family! I can tell this is where God wants me to be. There is nothing better then getting up in the morning to see my sleepy husbands face, and my son smiling a happy good morning! I am still working on getting a work schedule for Phillips Data, sometimes it can be a little tricky with juggling Matthew and getting the necessary work done, but Paul has been a great help with sticking the pacifier in his mouth when he is whining. (Matthew that is, I hope Paul doesn’t have a pacifier!!) I wouldn’t trade this time in our lives for the world!
